Gas is incredibly common in babies, especially in those early months. Their little digestive systems are still figuring things out, which can lead to trapped air, discomfort and some very unhappy feedings.<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s why choosing an infant formula often comes down to one simple hope: something gentler on their tummy, so feeding feels easier for both of you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Short answer: because they\u2019re brand new humans.<\/span><\/p>\n

        There could be several reasons why your baby cries after a feed. They may have trapped gas, still be hungry or be overly tired. Pay attention to your baby\u2019s feeding and behavior patterns and consult your pediatrician for guidance.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Does reflux or spit-up mean my baby has gas?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

        It\u2019s easy to confuse spit-up with gas, but they\u2019re not the same. Infant reflux, or \u201cspitting up,\u201d happens when milk or stomach acid comes back up into your baby\u2019s throat. This is completely normal, and you might notice it after feedings or burping. This happens because babies have weak lower esophageal sphincters (the valve where the esophagus meets the stomach), so food and stomach acid can easily push back up into the esophagus. Gas is produced when air gets trapped in the stomach or intestines causing pressure or discomfort.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Should I switch my baby\u2019s formula?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

        Once you find a formula your baby tolerates and enjoys, it\u2019s usually best to stick with it. Too many changes can cause tummy troubles. Always check with your pediatrician before making any changes to your baby\u2019s feeding.<\/span><\/p>\n
